Maria Cross MSc

Registered nutritionist
@MariaXCross

Hi, I’m Maria Cross and I am a nutritional therapist with thirty years’ experience in the field. Since qualifying, I have been a university lecturer and tutor, helping set up the first BSc nutritional therapy degree clinic in the UK, and published two books. I’ve also led numerous workshops and given talks on the link between diet and health.

I specialise in diet and mental health. Nutrition plays a significant role in the health of the brain, and complaints such as mood disorders, brain fog, poor memory and concentration, can often be traced to diet and gut health. Everything is connected, so what you eat can affect every system in your body. Even your skin can be a reflection of how stress affects your digestion.

My approach is always to identify the root cause of my client’s symptoms and address them from there. It is a holistic, whole-body approach that aims for change in the long-term.

The initial consultation lasts approximately 90 minutes. When you make a booking, you receive a questionnaire that you return to me ahead of the consultation so that I can start planning how best to achieve your goals. A few days after the consultation, you receive a detailed report explaining my findings and the dietary changes that I recommend. I may also suggest biochemical tests and supplements.

There’s a lot to take in, which is why I stay with you on your journey to good health. You can contact me with any queries at all regarding your programme, between visits and for up to one month following your last consultation.
